The united nations was created in 1945 because in order to keep international peace. The fact that many countries around the world were very competitive in order to keep ahead of the countries near them. The U.N. helped The U.N. replaced the league of nations in 1945. The term United Nations was created by president Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill during world war II. The United Nations was very successful in achieving their goals because many other groups were created from it. Also all the rules and regulations the U.N. put out, were followed by all the countries.
Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping were two very different Chinese leaders. Mao Zedong had a program called "The Great Leap Forward", however the name didnt suit the program. The program was more like a great leap backwards. The goals of the plan were to increase farm and factory output, instead the program failed and there were two years of low production and hunger. Then the cultural revolution happened in 1966 and China was in between a bitter war inside its own country. During this time the economy was very slow, the civilians feared arrest and China was isolated from other countries. Then Deng Xiaoping came along. In 1981 the Four Modernizations plan was created, the plan was to allow some free-market sales, family farms, and some private business. The results of his program were economic living improvements. Also foreign relationships and trade improvement. If i had to choose i would rather have Deng Xiaoping as my leader because he was a strong leader that respected the business's of his people.

After the tragic events of the Holocaust and World War II, nations from all over the world came together to try to solve the issues that face the world. This became to be known as the United Nations. It replaced the League of Nations, as it was ineffective to preventing World War II.
The United Nations brought all countries that were willing to cooperate to face the issues of mainly on international law, human rights, international security, economic development, and social progress. Thus, hopefully preventing another major war.
Well, since the formation of the UN, fortunately there hasn’t been another world war disaster. Countries were able to face international problems in a peaceful manner. However, there are still quandaries that need to be solved such as Darfur, immigration, communism, dictatorships, and terrorism.
There were two powerful leaders of communism in China. Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping had major influences on China and its people. They both believed in communism and focused on making the economy of China stable. Xiaoping was a supporter of Mao and was named to several positions in Mao’s government. As Zedong became a strong leader of the People’s Republic of China, Xiaoping departed and joined forces with President Liu Shaoqi, after Mao Zedong announced that plan of the Great Leap Forward, which Deng Xiaoping disagreed on. Xiaoping did not believe in helping the peasants. Xiaoping and Shaoqi embarked on pragmatic policies opposing against the radical ideas of Zedong. Soon after Mao’s death and Xiaoping became the leader of China after defeating the successor of Zedong, he launched the Beijing Spring which let open criticism against the Cultural Revolution. Mao did not allow this to happen when he was in power, thus punishing those who opposed.

United Nations
The purpose was to promote global peace and security as well as economic and social well-being. They had the power, through the votes of their more than 170 member nations, to take action against forces that would threaten world peace. The UN has been successful around the globe, such as Iraq Haiti and Bonsnia. Iraqi troops invaded Kuwait for oil land, UN voted to stop them and to force the troops to withdraw, they did not listen. The UN voted to use military force on the Iraqi troops, and it drove out Iraq from Kuwait.
Haiti was under dictatorship rule, after many years they began free elections, but the victor was ousted by a military coup. The UN forces helped Haiti restore the elections, and the functioning democracy in Haiti. Bosnia launched a campaign of ethnic cleaning against Croats and Muslims. The Serbs killed many thousands of people. The UN eventually entered Bosnia to watch them and create safe havens for refugees. The UN also charged Serb leaders with war crimes. Serbs cease-fire only came after NATO forces destroyed Serb strongholds.
Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping
I think Deng was a better leader; he did a lot of positive things for the people of China. Going forwards and not backwards like Mao did.
Deng Xiaoping
• Farming methods were modernized
• Industry was upgraded and expanded
• Science and Technology were developed
• Defense systems and military forces were improved

The United Nations was created in an attempt to ensure world peace and economic harmony. When the Untied Nations was first created they had over 170 nations and each of them needed to cast a vote for or against any actions that other nations put forth before the United Nations would either go ahead with the proposal or give no support and demand that no actions be taken towards the rejected proposal. The United Nations have been successful around the world. When one nation attacks another nation for any reason the United Nations would usually vote to send Military aid to push the invaders out of the country and then food and medical supplies for any wounded.
Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping were two different Chinese leaders. Mao Zedong created a policy called "The Great Leap Forward", however it turned out to be a leap backwards. The policy called for a communist like work habits with little or no pay (usually in food) and a lot of products. The workers, mainly the farmers, noticed that they could do less work and still be paid the same which led to a great crop failure that caused the deaths of over 2 million people. Deng Xiaoping, however had a different plan, called the Four Modernizations plan. This allowed some private business and free market sales along with ownership of family farms. The results were a huge successes. The economy raised, living conditions improved and foreign trading improved as wheal.
